Part 17
With my time at school rapidly coming to an end my thoughts and energy started to be consumed by what or more specifically where I would I go next. I still had a hankering to take up ************** teaching in Limerick but my parents were not budging in their refusal to fund this.
Many a battle was had but they were not for turning and the reality was that our relationship was nearly at the end of the road and they did not have the interest in helping me out after what I had put them through.
Help came to me unexpectedly one Sunday afternoon, I was under the covers of Frank's bed sucking him, Frank was as usual jibbering on about something I was only half listening to, when I stopped doing what I was doing to ask him to repeat what he had just said, he did, I had to repeat it back to him to make sure I had not misheard, but I had not, I leapt up and started madly kissing him and in amongst my tears if joy I was thanking him profusely for organising an apartment in Limerick for me.
It turned out Frank had a cousin who owned lots of property down that side of the country and my lover had arranged a small apartment for me. I was over the moon with this and I ended up staying with Frank for about the next week wearing whatever he wanted me to and doing whatever he asked of me.
When I left Franks house at the end of the week I vowed to be faithful to him but unfortunately two days later I was in the back of a car with Johnny :-(
It was in the run up to my final school exams that my life or more importantly Noreen's life took a turn for the worse. We were down in Galway one Saturday afternoon as we had planned to go to a nightclub ( I say nightclub but it really was just a disco in a hotel). I really should not have been there as my exams were in a couple of weeks time but as usual it had not been hard to lure me away for a night on E. We had been browsing a bit looking round the shops and were in a shopping centre when I told Noreen I was going off to find a bench as my leg was still causing me pain when I was on it too long. So I found a bench and plonked myself down and watched the shoppers go by, I sat in a bit of a daydream but my daze came to an abrupt end when first I heard the shouting and then I had my next sighting of Noreen as she sprinted passed being hotly followed by a couple of security guards. I got up and hobbled after them, unfortunately for Noreen she got out of the shopping centre after opening up a decent lead on the security guards but ran straight into two policemen. I caught her eye as they waited for a van to take her away, I know I looked confused as I assumed she had been shoplifting but she had been caught numerous times doing that and she had never ran. As our eyes met my confused pleading was met by a sad shake of the head and a lowering of her eyes.
Noreen it turned out had done a very silly thing as she had rather foolishly decided to steal a scarf while her bag contained a bag of ************s and individual wraps of coke which she was bringing into the nightclub for her boyfriend to sell.
I knew none of this while I got the bus home, johnny had rung me to ask where I was and I explained what I had seen. He was waiting for me when I got off the bus where he took me off to Noreen's boyfriend where I worked out what was going on, that was after I had to defend myself from accusations that somehow Noreen had done a runner with his d**gs.
When they finally accepted my story they let me go on my way, I was in dire need of a good smoke but I had not wanted to ask the dickheads interrogating me so I made the decision to head to the old bong house.
As I said previously it was mostly smack they were doing in there at that time but I knew they would always sell you a bit of hash even if it was nowhere near the quality it used to be.
Getting in was now more difficult than it used to be but eventually I managed to give a name of a guy who was in there who could vouch for me. I was told to go into what was the back bedroom where they would sort me out as I did i passed by the kitchen where in the corner tapped up and passed out with her boyfriend was my old school buddy Angie. I had no idea she was on the hard stuff but I think I made a decision that night to look her up and find out more about it.
